CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured and skills-oriented mode of therapy that involves practitioners teaching the appropriate skills, step by step, allowing our patients to learn and feel better more quickly. CBT is the most researched clinical orientation and the robust literature that has resulted, proves CBT to be empirically-validated and effective in helping a wide range of psychological disorders.
PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING
Dr. Michelle Beakey offers comprehensive and focused assessments for psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological issues. Her testing knowledge has been cultivated by her extensive training experiences and by the treatment and assessment of a variety of psychological disorders.

At Los Feliz Psychological Services, comprehensive testing services are provided to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Each assessment is custom-tailored to the individual’s needs, based on the referral information and as appropriate to the clinical hypothesis. Current symptomatology, psychosocial functioning, previous psychological treatment history, medical history, developmental history, and educational history will be reviewed. At the conclusion of the evaluation, clients and referring clinicians will receive an in-depth explanation of test results, diagnoses, recommendations, and referrals for treatment (when indicated). Here at Los Feliz Psychological Services, we offer assistance with IEP services and are available to attend school meetings to help advocate for your child’s academic needs.

How long will I need to be in therapy?
A: Each patient is different, based on their specific symptoms and needs. However, once the intake assessment has been completed, a timeframe will be discussed. Moreover, therapy is tailored to your individual needs, so you will always be encouraged to adjust your sessions as needed, and to set a schedule that works for you, both time-wise and financially.
